Clarins Ever Matte Foundation.

Clarins Ever Matte Foundation* in 103 Ivory

I was recently looking around for a new brand to fall in love with when a friend of mine gave me some Clarins testers she got from a makeup artist on one of her modelling shoots. I tried a matte foundation that I really loved and found out later that it's been discontinued. My little heart was broken until I saw the new Clarins Ever Matte Foundation which is very similar to the one I tried, so I placed it on a wish list in my head. When I got contacted by Clarins to try out the foundation I was over the moon! I would have loved to wear the Ever Matte Foundation over Christmas, and I was really skeptical about it being the same as the old matte foundation.

I tried out the foundation as soon as I received it, the scent is the first thing which attracted me to the product. It smells very fresh - almost like cucumber and watermelons - one of my favourite scents! The foundation is brilliant because you can build it up, the first layer gives you a natural look with a matte finish, but you're ready to go for an evening out after two coats. You only need a tiny amount for a coat (I'm wearing one in the picture), so the foundation will last a long time. It stays matte for the whole day, perhaps a top up of powder before your evening out but I'm very impressed! I have combination skin, so some days my skin can go quite oily and I do struggle to find a foundation which will keep my skin looking close to perfect all day.

With the combination of moisture and a matte finish, the Clarins Ever Matte Foundation works wonders on my skin. I'm very impressed with the quality of Clarins and their products do exactly what they say on the box. I'll definitely be purchasing some of their skincare an makeup in the New Year, have you tried Clarins yet? Will you be trying their skincare range?

Audio Earmuffs.

I was recently contacted about the new headphones that MobileFun.co.uk have received - earmuff headphones! They come in different colours and prints, with everything that you need to connect your audio device to the headphones and make a great present for music fans.
I love the idea of inbuilt heaphones into earmuffs as they still keep you warm in the winter, but I was sceptical about the quality of the sound before I got a chance to listen to it. I love music and I like a variety of styles and bands but with headphones the most important with me would be to hear the base on songs like Midnight City by M83, so the quality of the sound is very important.
I received the headphones and quickly tried them out - the size is perfect, just like having headphones wrapped in a cable knit and some fur, and the quality of the sound is great! I listened to all my favourite songs and really enjoyed the sound. Like any other headphones you get a little bit of noise coming from them, so if you're travelling on a quiet train you might want to turn the volume down!
I really love these headphones and I can see that they're going to be a cute accessory to my winter looks, and I can plug my iPod straight into them when I want to listen to my favourite songs!

What do you think? Would you wear a pair of audio earmuffs?

Meow!

New Look velvet skater dress, Topshop cat ears headband, Topshop leather ankle boots.

I have been seeing the trend of cat ears slowly get bigger and bigger this party season, it seems the more the better! Topshop have even brought out seasonal reindeer antlers which look super cute with a Christmas jumper! I teamed my cat ears with a velvet skater dress and subtle gold jewellery for an evening look. I'm so lost for what to wear this Christmas, I really wanted a glitzy dress for NY Eve but I can't find any one that I like :( So I thought this could be my back up outfit in case I get stuck with nothing to wear on the night!

If any of you have stumbled upon a skater dress that is sequined please let me know as that would be my perfect NY dress!

What do you think of the animal ears trend? Is it something you would try, or is it just fabulously ridiculous? ;)

December Glossybox.

1. Glossybox Blusher in Glossy Pink (Bonus Product): I thought I'd start with this product which is a bonus in Decembers box. Occasionally Glossybox will throw in one of their own products as a cute bonus, and so far I have to say I have been really impressed by what they have to offer. This blusher is a collaboration with Kryolan and is suitable for all skin tones. It has a velvety texture, easy to apply if you want it to be faded or quite bright on your face. I think this blusher would suit everyone, it's a very versatile colour and it would look good on pale skin or tanned.

9/10

2. Rituals Magic Touch Body Cream (£15): Another great hit from Rituals! Lovely smelling, luxurious body cream which moisturises and nourished the skin. This cream combines rice milk and antioxidants and smells of delicious cherry blossom. I use this body cream on the drier spots during the cold weather like knees, elbows and my arms. Thumbs up to another ten out of ten product from Rituals!

10/10

3. Anatomicals What A Complete and Utter Glosser. I Never Fake Strawberry Milkshake. Lip Gloss (£3.49): I love Anatomicals for their funny titles and fruity scents, the brand is affordable for any kind of budget. This lip gloss smells of delicious strawberry milkshake, and is a great tool to refresh your lips. I keep this lip gloss in my bag and use as and when I need to! The mark also reflects my personal feeling towards lip glosses, I'm very picky with them as I prefer lip sticks but I will use this gloss to brighten up my face!

7/10

4. Seche Nail Lacquer (£9.95): The new Seche Nail Lacquer is available in 33 shades following the latest fashions and has a quick drying formula. The varnish dries very quickly and a massive bonus is that you only need one coat! I like the colour, I wouldn't usually go for something this dark but I think it's growing on me!

8/10

5. Milk_Shake Conditioning Whipped Cream (£14.79): This new hair care brand is set to become one of 2013 hottest! High end hair care has never smelt better, delicious Conditioning Whipped Cream actually smells like a product you would eat (although I really wouldn't). Apply to clean, damp hair and scrunch in before blow drying for smooth and protected hair. I found this product really pleasant to apply and it gave my hair bounce and shape for the rest of the evening so I'm really looking forward to using more of their products!

10/10

6. Sleek Makeup i-Divine True (£7.99): I have always wanted to try a Sleek product and this palette has really made me grow an interest for the brand. In fact, I love it so much that I will be publishing a separate blog post with more photos and a full review of the palette. Here is a little taster: The colours are suitable for a perfect smokey eye, night time glamour and every day chic. The palette comes with a double ended sponge tip applicator and a built in mirror, handy if you like taking your makeup out with you for touch ups!

10/10

Glossybox have given their subscribers a box of real treats this Christmas! I loved the box, I'm so happy I got to try out a Sleek product and found out about Milk_Shake. I think that Glossybox is a great way to discover new products, sometimes those products are a miss but this box has definitely been a hit!

If you would like to find out more or subscribe to Glossybox in the UK, visit the website here.

What did you get in your box this month? Did you like it?

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Primer.

Primers really make a difference when applying makeup. They make your skin smoother, cover up pores and make it easy for foundation to glide over your skin smoothly, producing flawless coverage. My favourites include Benefit POREfessional, Mac Prep + Prime and BareMinerals Prime Time for mineral makeup.
I previously tried a L'Oreal Primer (you can read the review here) so I decided to give the classic L'Oreal Studio Secrets primer a go. I like primers that make your skin feel velvety and matte and from the tester I could see that is what this primer would do.
Once applied, the primer glides easily onto skin and smoothes pores and imperfections, creating a good base to start from. The only problem I had with this primer is that if you apply thick moisturizer onto your skin before applying the primer, it clumps and you end up having lots of bits of primer/moisturizer to pick from your face before it's smooth again. So I would advise either a very thin layer of moisturizer or waiting five minutes for it to sink it before you apply the primer.

What is your favourite primer? Do you use one at all?

MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara.

MaxFactor products have always been on my to try list, I remember my mum used to have some of their products when I was a child so I always associated the brand with older, classier women, not young girls. But now I know that the quality of makeup really does matter over things like pretty packaging, especially when you want to make your face look natural and flawless. So I decided to try some of their products, one of which is their iconic False Lash Effect Mascara.
The brush is really thick and it creates full and dramatic eyelashes whilst adding length as well. The bristles are thin and are spaced just right, separating each eyelash so you don't get them stuck together.
Usually I have to apply several coats before I get my eyes looking the way I want them too, but this is just the one coat of MaxFactors mascara and it's enough for my day to day look. I also like that it doesn't clump lashes together as much as most high street mascaras do. It's a great everyday mascara for those wanting thicker and longer eyelashes, but if used sparingly it will suit natural beauties just as good. Thumbs up for MaxFactor!

How Much is That Doggy in the Window?

Dog print shirt Primark // Disco pants Glamorous // shoes Primark // Rings mixed Topshop + H&M

I have an unhealthy obsession with dogs: if I could I would live in a house full of them. I have one little monster already, Harvey, and I think that there is nothing that cheers me up more than when I come into my house and there's a happy, slobbery face waiting to greet me and give me lots of cuddles! Anyway, enough about him!
I love printed shirts and I was over the moon when I found this one with a print of what looks like a little french bulldog on it! The shirt is really transparent though so I ended up wearing it with a bralet, but I think a skin coloured bra would suit just as well. This is a great, modest look for a night out as you get a little bit of flesh showing though the shirt outlining your silhouette, but at the same time it makes a classy statement among a sea of mini body con dresses, hot pants and bralets worn on their own. Don't get me wrong, I have all three of the items that I just stated, but it's how you style and wear them and I know in the town I live in most girls will go to a number of lengths to get noticed and sadly being partially naked on a night out is one of them. So I prefer to stand out by putting some clothes on! Plus, this outfit allows me to look cute in flat shoes and that's always a bonus when you're on your feet day and then night!
I love stacking rings together and mixing slim styles with chunky shapes, my poor stag did have antlers until I had an accident a couple of months ago and he sadly lost them :( But I still love him!

What is your choice of style for a night out? Especially now it's freezing, I'd love to hear what everyone wears to look stylish and cool but keep warm at the same time!

Rise of the Geek.

"Geek" T Topshop // disco pants Glamorous // hat River Island // glasses Urban Outfitters // trainers Kurt Geiger

There was a time in fashion when so called "geeks" and "nerds" were the most frowned upon crowd when it came to dressing themselves but look at how the tables have turned over the recent years! With bands like Weezer and Hot Chip sporting thick rimmed glasses and buttoned up polo T's, TV shows such as The Big Bang Theory (with the lovable Mega Geek Sheldon) and actresses such as Zooey Deschanel embracing the nerdy side, more and more shops are providing us with the necessary fashion items to imitate our favourite characters.
This Topshop "Geek" T has become the cult item this autumn with girls and boys (also available at Topman) from all over the world were seen sporting it in street style snaps. I had to jump on the trend wagon because I love T-shirts and it's rare I come across one which I actually like. For me, this is the perfect casual outfit because it's so comfy and trendy. I jazz this T up with charcoal disco pants and my glitzy Kurt Geiger Trainers and I feel it can take me from day to night and I'll feel good about what I'm wearing.
You don't have to go all out geek like I did in this outfit post, more glamorous and subtle elements of the trend are thick rimmed glasses, bobble hats and scarves and button up shirts - all of which you can mix in with your everyday style.

What do you think of the GEEK trend? Will you be trying it?
