There’s a preconceived image about clothing that comes from a supermarket brands, such as F&F at Tesco, and I am ridiculously guilty of being one of these people who make snap judgments on things without having any idea or research – but we can all learn from the past and aim towards being better humans, right?
So, I was royally proved wrong by the previously mentioned F&F, when I received an e-mail where they told me about the new denim collection inspired by the Saint Laurent collection which was showcased at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. Clearly, the brand is making huge steps to position itself away from the frumpy image many younger people have and they've even landed a feature in Vogue! Have a read of it here; it’s a very interesting piece on the collections makeover.
I was very keen and excited to check out their new collection, and the hyped up denim pieces (especially the boyfriend jeans which have been featured in a variety of magazines) and funnily that evening a friend of mine told me he couldn't believe how well the new F&F TV ad was presented – it seemed more designer than high street (check it out here).
I couldn't believe the pieces and the prices when I logged onto the Clothing at Tesco website – the boyfriend jeans proved all that were promised with a price tag of just £15! And I finally found something that I wanted for months: a plain, leather style t-shirt. That didn't cost me a bomb. I decided that I wanted to create a laid back but still glamorous outfit with the boyfriend jeans and leather T, so I glammed it up with a pair of unbelievable heels which visually elongate the legs whilst being comfortable, and finished the outfit with a classic and stylish watch.
You guys be the judge of what the outfit looks like, but I’m really impressed with their new collection and the amount of work that’s going into this makeover. I can’t believe how comfy the jeans are – and with such a low price tag! F&F is definitely creeping up the style ranks and I can’t wait for their next campaign to come out - this brand is one to watch.Follow @FashionFake
