Casmara Revitalising 24-carat Gold Face Mask* £9.99

When I found out about Casmara and their 24-carat gold algae face mask, I was very intrigued and excited to review it as it has been featured in so many magazines and endorsed by celebs like Michelle Keegan who has amazing skin.
The rejuvenating gold face mask has firming effects obtained from seaweed extract, 24k gold dust, Shea butter and Goji extract which all provide your skin with unique nutrients. It's a luxurious treat which promises results to rival salon treatments costing over £100, in the comfort of your own home and for a fraction of the price.

The face mask is suitable to use for all skin types and is unisex, which is great because men also have to look after their skin and nourish it from time to time.

The kit contains a nourishing face cream, two sachets for mixing the mask, a spatula and instructions on how to use the mask. There is also an absolutely fantastic video which you can watch - it tells you exactly how to mix the mask and use it.

The powder mix is very sparkly - I tried to take a picture so you can see the gold particles shimmering in the light. You have to mix the contents of the sachets pretty fast because the mixture sets very quickly and you still need to apply it on to the face before the mask solidifies. Prep your skin by applying the moisturiser which comes in the pack, ensure to save some for after the treatment.
Try and apply the gold face mask starting from your forehead, in one direction and preferably in one smooth motion. Ensure it is applied all over the face, so you can peel it off in one go. On the video, it shows that you should also apply the mask over your eyes as it reduces puffiness and black circles, but I just got a little nervous about having my mouth AND eyes covered that this tim I opted out of it.

As you can see, the way that my Casmara Gold Face Mask looked on me is nothing like what it looks like in promotional shots - it was gloopy and dripped quite a bit, so definitely apply the mask over a sink. It started setting after about 5 minutes, so I settled in a hot bath with an episode of Pretty Little Liars and relaxed. After 15 minutes, the mask is ready to be removed - start from your chin and slowly peel the mask off, it should come off in one piece. Finish the process by applying whats left of the moisturiser.

The results? My skin felt fantastic. I actually did this mask the day after a night of one too many wines and my skin was dehydrated - but after using the Casmara Algae Peel Off Mask my skin felt revitalised and nourished. It was actually a mega easy process to achieve results which can battle a facial you receive at a salon - I'm so impressed with the face mask. Kind of panicking a little bit because this mask needs to become a part of a more regular routine, perhaps once or twice a month, but it's not easy to find online. You can buy the mask in high street stores like Boots, or online on Amazon but they often run out of stock and I can see why - a gold face mask which costs less than £10 AND delivers incredible results is a winner.

  1. This sounds awesome. I've heard of Gold masks being great for the skin but the hefty price tags always put me off. Its great to hear of an affordable option. I'll definitely have to check it out. Raspberrykiss xo
