Face masks are a great way to refresh your skin, brighten your complexion and de-stress as you get a mini pamper session whilst your skin absorbs all the goodness of the mask. I recently reviewed the OZ Naturals Amino Herbal Hydration mask, prior to this I didn't really know much about the brand only occasionally hearing people talk about it or tweet the name. OZ Naturals are an American brand who's products are vegan friendly and cruelty free which is always a great start. I think that more companies especially in the beauty industry need to make their products cruelty free and environment friendly - it always gets a thumbs up from me!

The Amino Herbal Hydration face mask is an effective form of hydration for dry and dull skin - it was only recently I found out that a lot of the time people who think they have 'oily' actually have dry skin because they cleanse it too much and with the wrong kind of product, when really we should be hydrating it, not drying it out which is when skin produces excess oils. The formula of this face mask is made up of rosehip oil, pro-vitamin B5, amio acid complex and an organic herbal blend which promises to nourish the skin and acts as an anti-ager. The end result is hydrated, radiant and youthful looking skin - sounds great right?

I tried this mask for the first time the other day and I was truly incredibly impressed - after cleansing, I slathered on a layer of the OZ Naturals Amino Herbal Hydration mask and soaked in the bath for about 20 minutes. I then gently removed the mask with some warm water and as I was taking it off, I could feel the difference on my skin. It felt like the top layer of my skin was stripped off - but only the yucky dead skin cells and any grime, what was revealed was bright and hydrated skin. The mask tingled when I first put in on so I guess that the acids did their job. The scent isn't anything fantastic but it's not unpleasant either. I was very happy with the way my skin looked and felt after the use of the face mask - and I didn't have any reactions to it which is always sometimes a worry of mine when testing new facial products.

I have found a list of the active ingredients and what they do to your skin, if you guys are interested because I definitely was!
  • Silk Protein Amino Acids: Amino acids are the basis for all living tissue, and are vital to the creation and function of healthy skin. Our selected amino acids, derived from plant sources, form the building blocks for collagen and elastin.
  • Hyaluronic Acid: With the ability to hold 1000 times its weight in water, Hyaluronic Acid pulls moisture deep into the skin and holds it there. Regular use of Hyaluronic Acid aids in plumping the skin to appear more youthful and smooths skin for a softer, silkier feeling.
  • Vitamin E: A powerful antioxidant that works to neutralize free radicals and prevent cellular damage, Vitamin E protects, repairs, soothes and moisturizes the skin.
  • Panthenol (Vitamin B5): Panthenol is a natural humectant, which penetrates the lower layers of the skin to help retain moisture and provide a soft, smooth appearance. Its exfoliating properties also fight free radicals and promote new, healthy skin cells.
To add to the experience, this product is organic and as I mentioned, cruelty free so there is literally no guilt when buying and using this product! Nor does the face mask contain alcohol, parabens or sulphates and is suitable for ALL skin types. Thumbs up OZ Naturals, this is a winner!
