On Saturday I stopped by the Bloggers Festival which was organised by Scarlett London - an absolute wonder woman when it comes to creating events for bloggers. This is the second event by Scarlett which I came along to and I was so excited because last time I have made some amazing blogger friends and met some great brands and PRs which I have been in touch with throughout the year. So, I decided to post about this event because I think it's such a great day to network and have fun with likeminded people - and if you are invited to future events, here's what to expect.
Prior to attending Bloggers Festival, I met some lovely ladies for Bloggers Lunch at Pizza Express in Victoria Street - organised by Jasmine and Kirsty from Sœurs de Luxe, it's such a fab idea to get to meet and hang out with some bloggers if you don't want to go to an event on your own. Everyone was so lovely and friendly and I got chatting to Holly from The Holly Days, Jude from The Wee Blondie, Sam from Coco Butter Blog, Maryam from Maryam Sofia Writes, Lynsey from Lynsey Emily, and Charlotte from Discovering Charlotte. Other fab bloggers who came to the lunch included: Angie from Chocolate Lipstick, Cat from What Cat Says, Amanda from Amanda Bootes, Lee-Anne from Wot's Her Name Again, Sarah from My Beauty Sleuth, Glamour.Glitter.Gloss, Pao Wong from Pao Loves Fashion, Tania from When Tania Talks, and Lauren from Food Thoughts Life. Phew, I think I managed to list all the lovely gals from lunch! After we polished off a starter and a pizza, with a cheeky glass of wine, we all headed to the event.
The event was held at Conrad London St James which was absolutely fabulous - it had the most beautiful staircase which led us down to the venue. We arrived about half an hour after the event started and it was packed full of bloggers and brand stalls. First thing we hit up was a photo op with a dress up box (I will try and get the photos from the photographer fro you guys to see later), followed by a glitter tattoo stall which had a waiting list as long as anything. We chatted about the new tattoo trends, but gave up half way through waiting to go and visit Mode Media. Mode Media (formerly known as Glam Media) helps bloggers connect with big brand campaigns and monetise their content, and I was very interested in what advise they had to give as most of you know I am really trying to make blogging my 9-5 these days. It was really helpful to know that more and more brands are now focussing on the content bloggers produce, rather than on the count of their social media followers because sometimes you come across incredible blogs who only have a couple of hundred followers and don't get a chance to work on campaigns which would be right up their street.
We then moved on around the venue to see what other brands were displaying - I stumbled across some old favourites and new brands which I am dying to try out! Brodie & Stone were displaying their Natural World haircare products and I actually use their coconut hair oil which is my absolute split ends saviour! I got another travel size item to top up my current oil, and also some new goodies to try out - thank you gals! I was also very interested in Bee Good skincare as I am loving honey based products - they smell so good and work wonders on problem skin as they have anti-inflammatory properties.
I also discovered a new fashion brand which I am loving - Minimum, a Danish brand which is the epitome of Scandinavian style with timeless pieces that pack patterns and subtle colour. I am very excited that Minimum are on the UK fashion scene for AW15, watch this space as I am planning a little spree on their website!
I loved the Jewellery Box stand - a magical enchanting forest set up which was by far the most gorgeous stand at the event. Delicate and beautiful jewellery graced displays with exclusive previews of what's going to be available from the brand soon. I am getting more into subtle and classic jewellery so I am very excited to keep my eye out on this brand - and I also got a cute little gift from them which I will be featuring on my blog soon! Thank you!
The Perfume Shop set up a doll house with the most gorgeous smelling perfumes - and they had the cutest cupcakes so how could you not stop by?! I loved chatting to the girls about new releases and what we can expect to see around Christmas.
I also stumbled upon Bon Prix who have some gems of items this season - including this outfit which I styled. Ox blood and mixed prints make the perfect boho combo for AW15! I also won a luxury goodie bag in their business card raffle which included a mega cute wooly hat - keep an eye out on my posts to see it styled in my lookbooks!
There were so many other stalls worth mentioning like Grace Foods which had some incredible Carribean sauces and marinades as well as Aloe Vera drinks for hydration; Yoogaia concept which I am so excited to try out and blog about - it's virtual yoga your way; Cloud Nine who featured hair styling items and I got to chat to them about why good tools are so important for your hair care routine; Browhaus who convinced me to give eyebrow waxing another go after my horrific experience with a well known brand two years ago (I will be seeing them later this month so keep an eye out for a review!), and Nanshy who are a PETA approved makeup brush brand.
During the event I also got to hang out with some lovely blogger chicks from Bloggers Lunch (above with Holly from The Holly Days, and Ally from Ally In Blunderland amongst many others like Segun from Lotions, Potions and Me who is full of incredible hints and tips when it comes to skincare so check her out!
I had such an incredible day and I am so happy to have met some lovely new blogger pals as well as some brands which I hope to work with in the future. This has been another amazing event from Scarlett and I just want to say a huge thank you for letting me be a part of it!
