Look Good Feel Better are a cancer support charity which helps women and teenagers combat the visible side effects of cancer treatment has launched a new range of makeup brushes that will match the quality of some of the best makeup brushes available on the market. With the help of brush specialists Bespoke Europe, these makeup brushes have been created to professional quality and come with a very reasonable price tag (prices start at £6.99).
I cannot imagine how traumatic it must be finding out you have cancer - everything these brave people go through is just incredible. Treatment has come so far with many people successfully beating their illness, but it doesn't stop anyone being afraid from the moment the doctor reveals terrifying results. And once treatment begins, many people experience side effects which changes the way they look - often lowering confidence, which ultimately lowers state of mind. Look Good Feel Better help women who have cancer treatment with their Programme of Workshops and Masterclasses that teach women skincare and make-up tips and techniques including help with eyebrow and eyelash loss and changes to the skin - the proceeds from their makeup brushes will help keep these classes expanding. An 8% - 12% donation will be made from the sale of each brush and set, and Bespoke Europe have guaranteed a minimum donation of £30,000!! Just to give you guys some numbers: Look Good Feel Better runs free skincare and make-up Workshops in over 77 hospitals and cancer support centres nationwide and more than 150 Masterclasses are held each year, which enabled them to support 14,500 women and teenagers in 2014.
Now let's talk about the brushes themselves because I know we tend to pick a favourite brand and stick by it but honestly I'm a bit of a makeup brush whore - I switch and try new brushes all the time. And I'm going to be upfront about these brushes: their bristles are super soft on my skin, and handles are so comfortable to hold!
The range features 12 high quality brushes which have been developed with the help of beauty industry experts. The brushes are all hand made using soft talkon bristles - it is a special polyester derivative free of any protein component which makes the brushes allergy free, environmentally friendly and suitable for sensitive skin. What's not to love already?
International Make-Up Artist to the stars, Caroline Barnes, has commented on the brushes:
“These brushes are of an exceptional quality and the breadth of the range is excellent. They are affordable too, making them appealing to both professional and non-professionals.
Make-up can have a huge impact on women’s confidence and I’m a big supporter of the wonderful work that Look Good Feel Better does to help cancer patients regain a sense of normality.”
The brushes are available from Boots.com and larger Boots stores, also at feelunique.com, lookfantastic.com and beautyexpert.com, and come as individual brushes or as sets.
