How To Get A Natural Winter Glow

Skin can look a little pale during winter months - lack of sunshine, feeling tired and dryness are all contributors to dull, drab looking skin. You know sometimes you just need a pick me up and all it takes is a memory of a time you spend somewhere sunny, sipping one of those cocktails with a straw in it, all those hours laying on a lounger which gave you the most beautiful bronzed glow... That's it. That's how we can get you feeling like little Miss (or Mr) Sunshine again - a natural looking bronze glow! A combination of high quality tan, and an intense moisturiser is the key - let me tell you about two products I'm currently loving.

Step one is to prep your skin and ensure it's moisturised. I was introduced to Embryolisse by a PR friend of mine who sent me this creme to try out - and honestly, I'm hooked. I am not one to remember to moisturise every day even though I have a cupboard full of delicious smelling, natural, luxurious moisturisers. Lait-Creme Concentre is a 24-hour miracle cream, it really is. This moisturiser has been a classic favourite of the French pharmacy going back as far as the 1950s and a beauty secret kept by dermatologists and celebrities alike. Lait-Creme Concentrate is a 6 in 1 multi-tasker which primes, moisturises, removes make-up, acts as a repairing mask, an after-shave cream, and a baby-care product. Amazing, right?! And what's even better is that it is paraben free and not tested on animals!

Since day one of using this lotion, my skin felt incredibly soft and smooth, nourished and looked after - Lait-Creme Concentre doesn't have a scent which means you don't have to worry about your perfume ever clashing.

Step two is applying the tan of your choice. I tested out Beauty Labs Peptide Tanning Instant Colour Rapid Tan which is a skin friendly product that was developed specifically for those allergic to DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) but ultimately can be used by anyone who fancies a gradual and gentle tan. Beauty Labs Instant Colour Rapid Tan minimized skin dryness and harshness which is usually associated with products containing DH. The tan also contains organic ingredients, peptides and skin firming as well as anti-ageing actives. A multitasking tan...what will people come up with next?!
When you first squeeze out the tan and start spreading it, the colour will look pretty damn dark - but it slowly builds into a more natural colour and if in doubt, just jump in the shower and scrub it off!

I really enjoyed messing around with a winter tan, and even though it sounds silly, it actually does make you feel a little better when things are dark and gloomy... Just try and avoid the rain if you can, just after application?
