:Diablo Confectionary - All Of The Taste, But None Of The Guilt

Diablo sugarfree review, FashionFake, lifestyle bloggers, food bloggers

A couple of months ago, I first discovered :Diablo in Waitrose - sugar free chocolate was all the rage in my head as I am trying to cut out sugar from my everyday diet but sometimes when that craving for chocolate hits, I just cave in! So I was very excited to work with :Diablo on a post where I can tell you all about their products which contain no added sugar.

In my personal opinion, I think there are huge amounts of people who just do not care about their diet and eat whatever is the tastiest/easiest option for them. And that's really not good because sooner or later it will catch up with you. Yes maybe you can eat a McDonalds every 2 days and not put on any weight, but it's still clogging up your arteries. Yes, you love a chocolate bar and a bag of Haribo sweets on a daily basis - but what you don't realise is the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes creeping up behind that sickly sweet taste, not to mention tooth decay. It's great to treat yourself with a takeaway (my weakness lies in pizza...) or a cookie once in a while, but I don't make it an every day habit because of the long term health problems it can bring.

:Diablo is the UK's first ever low-sugar and diabetes sensitive confectionary range. It has absolutely no added sugar, but the flavour has been kept the same as any other chocolate/wafer/cookie! I adore their chocolate chip cookies which have 0% sugar in them but taste incredible - especially if dunked in a cuppa!

In the mornings, I take a :Diablo muesli bar with me which I can either eat during my commute, or in the office along with some fruit and a detox tea. The bars provide fibre and vitamins in my diet, but keep the calories and sugars low - perfect start to the day.
One thing that really attracts me to the :Diablo confectionary is that their products aren't sickly sweet which is a reason as to why a lot of the times I would rather go for savoury rather than sweet snacks - I hate it when you eat a cookie or wafer and it's actually making you want to drink the sickly sweet taste away!

Diablo sugarfree review, FashionFake, lifestyle bloggers, food bloggers

I was really intrigued to see what the :Diablo hazelnut chocolate spread would be like - everyone loves the brand favourite hazelnut chocolate spread, but how will this match up? Again, I loved how it tasted because it was just sweet enough with the hazelnut flavour coming through. With only 2.61g of sugar per 30g, it's not as bad as most other branded chocolate spreads. Unless you start dunking your chocolate wafers into the spread - which I have thought about but had to stop myself!  The wafers are delicious - I grab one when I'm feeling a sweet tooth coming on, or with a cup of tea. These are excellent snacks for guests too!

Diablo sugarfree review, FashionFake, lifestyle bloggers, food bloggers

I really enjoy :Diablo products because in the back of your mind you know you are still saving on your daily sugar intake - which is the end goal, to reduce the intake of sugar you have. Not all of their products are 'sugar free', most have very reduced percentages of sugar. Plus it's all about being responsible with your food and not going over the top with what you eat. Have a wafer once in a while, or  a muesli bar when you're running late. I would always advise you to try and eat natural and non processed foods anyway, but on days when you just don't have time to make things yourself then a healthy option snack is the perfect way to go.

What do you think of :Diablo products? Will this help you cut down on sugar in your every day diet?

what i'm wearing: dress Zara // shoes* Deichmann // bag Chanel // necklace* Haati Chai

I wondered into Zara on Oxford Street last time I was in London for a little browse before an event - and ended up coming out with a bag full of dresses and shoes. Ooops. One of these dresses was the navy number I am wearing in my photos above - a dress so chic and effortless I just couldn't resist!
I love items of clothing that can easily take you from day to night, which is why I love this navy dress from Zara - it is perfectly suitable for a day of meetings, and with some slight accessory tweaks will be your best friend at a cocktail party.

I kept my accessories to a minimum as I feel this dress is an understated statement in itself - just add timeless jewellery pieces, and an icon bag, and you'll look classy/trendy/like your outfit is worth a lot more than it is. I think this dress was about £30 which isn't bad for a staple I feel I will have for many years to come.

For a more casual look, swap stilettos for chunky ankle boots, throw in a pair of hipster glasses and indulge in a messy bun - et voila, you're ready for a day in the creative office!

MeMeMe Lip Sheen Review

I love changing colours in the Autumn, especially when it comes to lipstick and nail varnish. I think there are certain colours that are meant for certain seasons - coral is for summer, purple is for autumn, pale or red is for winter and baby pinks remind me of spring.

On the 1st of October, MeMeMe will be launching their new range of lip sheens which are the perfect combo of lipstick (for their colour impacts) and glosses (for their shine). The lightweight and non sticky formulation is designed to moisturise and nurture your lips - ingredients include shea butter and aloe vera, which also has protective and healing qualities.

The MeMeMe lip sheens are available in a range of colours going from nude to dark, and you can either slick on a layer for a little bit of daytime colour, or layer for a dramatic effect.
I went with Bright Magenta as I felt like this could be a really fun colour to wear (and a similar colour was seen on Vivienne Westwoods catwalk!), especially as Autumn can be very tame for me in terms of the colours I wear.
The lip sheen is super easy to apply, I tend to put on a couple of layers to make the colour pop, and it makes my lips feel moisturised and nourished. The colour lasts for a couple of hours (depending on if you're eating, etc), but I would probably suggest you carry stronger colours in your bag so you can top up the colour through the day/night.

I'll definitely pick up a couple more of these MeMeMe lip sheens as I'd like to see what the nudes and the darker colours are like - will you be heading to the stores on the 1st of October to grab a sheen?

Welcome Autumn With Cosy Habits, and Warm Socks!

I love it when seasons change, especially from Summer to Autumn as the leaves look beautiful on the ground, cosy layers and chunky knitwear are your best friends, hot chocolates are completely necessary and my favourite country walks are crisp and enchanting. Have I sold all the positives of Autumn to you? I don't like to focus on the negatives which there are many of too, but see it as there's nothing we can do about begrudgingly saying "bye" to sunny summer. Hang on, I live in England - let's change that to semi warm, very occasionally sunny summer.

Being a bit of a country bumpkin, I take the opportunity to source seasonal food to cook with - especially to accompany a delicious Sunday roast! I also enjoy turning my house into something reminiscent of Santas Grotto with fairy lights and candles everywhere: let's be practical, it's light AND warmth. I also love a good forest or field walk with Liam and our bassador Harvey, we're surrounded by beautiful places like Harewood Forest, Savernake Forest and a whole selection of small nature reserves scattered all over our neighbourhood. I do have requirements though: my feet have to be warm and comfy, otherwise I just hate life and everything in it. I'm such a child when it comes to it, but if I'm cold and soggy it just ruins everything for me, I need to be warm and cosy - then I can take on the world. My Hunter wellies are my best friend throughout the year, and Heat Holders have kindly sent me some wellie warmer socks to go with them so my footsies are cosy on our walks!

After we get in from a long stroll, I am always hungry for comfort food and a hot cup of tea - or even better, hot chocolate. I'm very traditional when it comes to Sunday roasts, I think it's the perfect time to get together your family and friends, eat and catch up.
Although, I always experiment with flavours and try to add something different to my roasts. A favourite so far has been lemon chicken!

what i'm wearing: shirt Primark // jeans Topshop Joni // socks* Workforce // watch* Jord Watches

After a big dinner, we cuddle up on the sofa and watch TV or a film (horror is my pick, nothing can beat a good ghost story!) In the house, I always wear either my slippers, or a pair of big wooly socks to keep my feet warm. Thick socks are almost like slippers - you can just keep them on and not bother about putting slippers on to run to the kitchen to grab some snacks! Doritos, anyone?

These are only some reasons why I love colder weekends - they just feel so cosy and homely. Workforce socks and Heat Holders have a selection of warm and comfy socks to keep your feet warm whatever you're doing - walking, working or just chilling out. They're very durable and as I found out are perfect partners for hiking!

My Daily Ritual With Antipodes Skincare

Antipodes products have been a staple in my skincare routine since my friend Heidi recommended their Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream, which I immediately bought as her skin looks flawless, and I also picked up the Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream to go with it.

I love the idea of natural and organic products and I have been reading more and more about products from countries like New Zealand and Australia taking over the skincare scene because of high quality ingredients. I recently published a post on organic skincare and what it's all about - we know it's good for our skin, but why? Give it a read and I'm sure you'll soon enough be with me on the thought that organic is actually the way to go.

I have been struggling to find cleansers for my skin, as I have problem skin which blemishes regularly I love to use scrubs as they really penetrate through all the sebum and grime leaving me with a clear and smooth complexion. But we all know that we should be using a scrub once, or twice, a week so I have been told off by beauticians several times that I need to stop scrubbing near enough every day as that can make my skin produce excess oil and make it worse. But sometimes a milky smooth cleanser just won't do! It was then I found the Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser - an organic cleanser which leaves skin feeling deeply cleansed and fresh. It is made to soften and moisture your skin - it works wonders! My skin felt really smooth and nourished after I used this cleanser, it was very gentle on my skin even when I had a couple of pimples. The ingredients include cacao butter, soothing oils and Vinanza Grape antioxidant from NZ's sauvignon blanc grape seeds (no wonder I like it, wino!). I really like this cleanser because it doesn't dry out the skin at all which is a worry sometimes when picking new products to try.

After cleansing, I use a toner (in the mornings I just use a toner to refresh and cleanse) and I have been loving Antipodes Ananda Antioxidant-Rich Gentle Toner which helps stressed skin to calm. It has a blend of natural minerals, extracts of raspberry seed, aloe vera and mamaku black fern. I mean, if you don't want that on your skin - then there's no way to please you! This toner is also certified organic with 100% natural ingredients and 77% organically grown ingredients, whilst being suitable for irritated and sun-damaged as well as sensitive skin.

Once or twice a week I like to use a hydrating and cleansing face mask to give my skin a little boost - my favourite is the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey face mask (read my full review here). It gently cleanses my skin, whilst hydrating and nourishing it with the wonderful benefits of Manuka honey.

I have been using the Antipodes daily moisturisers for some months now (read the review for the day cream here, and the night cream here) and I absolutely love them. Plus they last for absolute ages as a little of this product goes a long way! So, I wanted to explore the Antipodes range even further and complete my daily skincare ritual - that's when I found out that they have an antioxidant super fruit serum called Worship (read my full review here). Serums are very important to use in your daily routine as they help your moisturiser sink into the skin and distribute evenly. I cannot imagine not using a serum now, especially Worship, as they really do make a difference to your skin. Worship is also certified organic, which means over 70% of its ingredients have been grown organically, without any nasties. So, the super fruits used in this serum really are super!

In case you haven't guessed, I'm a huge fan of the brand and truly believe in their products. They smell amazing, they feel amazing and most of them are organic certified, as well as being all natural. Yes, they are priced higher than what you will usually find in drugstores - but you are investing in your skin which if anything is what you should be investing into. I am totally up for paying a premium price for a product which will bring you quality, results and is enjoyable to use.

*Some of the products used in this post have been kindly sent to me for review purposes.

In The Kitchen: Prawn Arabbiata Pasta

Arrabiata pasta recipe, FashionFake, food bloggers, DegustaBox review

A couple of weeks ago I published my review of the August Degustabox - and I promised to write a recipe post from the pasta sauce I received in the food discovery box. So today I am going to tell you how to make a super quick and easy spicy prawn arrabiata pasta - it's delicious and takes about 15 minutes to make!

Arrabiata pasta recipe, FashionFake, food bloggers, DegustaBox review

What you'll need:
- Two handfuls of Barilla penne pasta*
- Half a jar of Barilla Arrabbiata sauce*
- Two handfuls of frozen prawns
- 1 small garlic clove
- 2 small shallots
- A couple of anchovy fillets
- A handful of basil leaves
- Olive oil

Arrabiata pasta recipe, FashionFake, food bloggers, DegustaBox review
Arrabiata pasta recipe, FashionFake, food bloggers, DegustaBox review

Bring a pot of water to boil and drop in your pasta - this will boil for about 12-15 minutes and you want it to be aldente (not totally soft and soggy).
Whilst your pasta is boiling, get a pan and heat it up with a spoonful of olive oil. Finely chop your shallots and fry until golden.
Add in the prawns and garlic, fry for two minutes and add in the sauce. Stir your ingredients in the pan, and drop in your anchovies - these will dissolve and be like a seasoning so judge by how salty you like your food.
Cook for about 10 minutes (by this point your pasta would have been cooking for about 5 minutes) and towards the very end drop in your basil leaves, judge the amount according to your taste.

Drain your pasta, sprinkle on a little olive oil and place on a plate. Pour on your Arrabbiata sauce and add a little basil on top, or a sprinkle of Parmesan will work wonders. And here you go, a super quick and tasty meal!

what i'm wearing: dress (worn as top) Zara // jeans H&M // shoes Zara // bag* George at ASDA // necklace Primark // watch Michael Kors

Zara is one of my favourite stores because every season they come out with timeless but on trend designs. I stopped by the store in Oxford Street on my way to an event a couple of weeks ago and stumbled upon this awesome dress striped dress - perfect for mid season, clean cut Scandi style.

I saw a little while ago a post from Vogue where Sarah Jessica Parker wore a dress over jeans - very 90s and in season - so I decided to give it a go. We all know this dress will look amazing with a pair of black tights and chunky ankle boots, what doesn't these days? But I dug out my white skinny jeans as I'm trying to still use them for A/W fashion, and stuck the dress on top.
To finish the outfit, and bring a bit of glitz and glamour, I added a pair of metallic effect Zara loafers which are haaaawt these season! And a great alternative to heels for evening wear.

What do you guys think? Is the dress over jeans going to make a comeback? Should it even be making a comeback?

Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Cream Review

Ole Henriksen Invigorating night creme review, FashionFake, beauty bloggers, anti ageing night creme

Escentual has been a go to place for all my skincare needs so was very excited to get chatting to the girls about their new launches, one of the being the Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Creme.

The creme works whilst you sleep and re-texturizes as well as renews your skin by replenishing moisture. Over the past couple of months I have been learning that everything in your skincare routine comes down to bringing moisture back into your skin to keep it clear, young and radiant. Active ingredients include glycolic, lactic and fruit acids and Shea butter which together improve cell renewal and visibly reduce lines and wrinkles. Skin is then left smooth and hydrated, with a fortified natural moisture barrier.
Fruit acids are made up of bilberry, sugar can, sugar maple, orange and lemon - vitamin C is always fab in skincare as it boosts collagen, reduces dark spots and brighten the skin. Shea butter is quite a heavy moisturiser which means the Invigorating Night Creme is pretty heavy on the skin, however as it's meant for use at night when you're asleep it's actually great as I find I want a heavier moistures, or oil as well as moisturiser, on my skin - this way when I wake up, my skin has got a heavy duty moisture boost and is ready for the day ahead.

I am really enjoying using my Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Creme - the scent as well is lovely, but reminds me of the creams my mum uses, which is great because it's a nice comforting smell.
I would definitely recommend this to older women as well as it's targeting wrinkles and fine lines but it has cleared my skin up from big spots and in general my complexion is looking brighter and clearer.

On/Off Presents... The Power of Soho, London Fashion Week SS16

Marketa Martisova, London Fashion Week SS16, FashionFake, fashion bloggers

It's the most wonderful time of the year: London Fashion Week SS16 collection. The week that gives everyone in the fashion world an ever growing sense of excitement, as well as anxiety - it's like a tornado of everything you would ever want to know in fashion for the upcoming season which ends as quickly as it begins.
This year I was very lucky to be invited to the On/Off catwalk by Dyson (I know, you think vacuum cleaners may be random now, but wait until you get to the end of the post where I shall reveal all!). On/Off displays upcoming talent and this year, for me, those names were Syed Nisar, Marketa Martisova and Rubert Wun.

Syed Nisar displayed futuristic outfits with lots of glam and jagged edges - definitely haute couture or an investment piece for Lady Gaga. I'm not a huge fan of futuristic styles, but I can appreciate how sculptured the looks were - especially in the photo above where the model looks just like a giant glitter ball! But like the white dress above it - girls, you'll know what I mean when I say it looks like a stack of ladies pads. I'm just sayin'! I like to look at styles and trends that I can actually wear, but at the same time it's great to see how designs and fashion is developing.

This collection was my favourite - Marketa Martisova's models paraded down the catwalk in quirky colourful prints and appliqu├ęs. I loved the golden midi skirt, it looks incredible with a crisp white top and I would also pair it with some chunky heeled ankle boots for every day wear; also the kimono style dress with a printed apron is just love. I will be keeping my eye on Marketa Martisova because I think her designs will start appearing more often, and also because I am actually dying to get my hands on that printed kimono dress!

So from Rubert Wun I would like to bring your attention to the shoes - the gorgeous, futuristic style pointed courts won my heart over. Again, very 'out there' and definitely a statement accessory I think these beauties will make it onto the feet of celebs on the red carpet, equally they can be worn with a classic black shift dress for city sleek style. Other elements o f the collections included ruffled scuba skirts and sleeves, and shaded fabric.

So, as promised: Dyson has recently brought out a humidifier which is a pretty cool thing to have especially as the temperatures drop. Skin is affected by the dryness in the air when we whack our radiators on and one way to tackle is is the old fashioned (my nan told me to do this) 'put a glass of water on the radiator' way which doesn't actually really work unless you're in a tiny space. So this humidifier adds the much needed moisture back into the air which then helps skin stay moisturised, rather than going dry. This is particularly useful to people with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
I didn't know, but dry air is also a cause for viruses to enter our bodies more easily so that's why colds and flus are always about when the temperature drops - if you want to try and prevent that, try a humidifier and plenty of vitamins to keep viruses at bay.
It was so useful to see what other technologies Dyson has to offer other than vacuum cleaners - humidifiers, fans, lights and even pens. As a brand, they're always developing innovative products which make our lives easier.

PS - sorry about the sizes of the pictures guys, my laptop went all cray cray when exporting the files so a couple of them are slightly smaller than the others!!
