A leather biker jacket has been a must have in the wardrobes of fashionistas since the early 1950's - boys like Marlon Brando, and James Dean rocked the jacket first, with girls following in 1980's (Debbie Harry) and 1990 when it was made uber popular by the fabulous Kate Moss. I'm sure everyone that I have ever met has some sort of leather jacket in their wardrobe - for a number of reasons:
- it's easy to wear and you can find a style which suits your shape
- it's a classic piece which will stay in your wardrobe forever, making it easy to invest in one
- it can be accessorised in a huge number of ways: from shearling and fur collars, to tribal designs and neon colours
- it helps any outfit look a little 'badass', just remember Buffy rocking her red leather jacket!

I wanted to give a little shape to my midi shirt dress - although I love it loose, I think it also looks great with a jacket which will enhance the waist, even if only by a teeny tiny bit. Dresses with leather jackets are one of my favourite combinations - especially mini dresses with skater skirts and floral patters. There's something so lovely about the contrast of feminine patters and tough leathers!
This jacket has been mine for 6 years now - I love it and cannot trade it in, just yet. It also used to have a detachable faux shearling collar but as you can imagine after 6 years I simply have no idea where it could be!
