A Night At The Oscars

The Oscars are such a glamorous awards ceremony, and the fashion world awaits the whole year to see what frocks will be worn by our favourite celebrities. I’ve always watched the Academy Awards for the dresses and the occasional drama – or if I can’t catch it on TV, I make sure to have a snoop in the next day newspaper to check out the glamorous dresses.

This year, I teamed up with Moda in Pelle to bring you a wearable evening look inspired by this years Oscars and current trends. Moda in Pelle design and produce luxury Italian footwear with an affordable price tag – which is why we all love them. I adore their pointed heels – and there is a huge variety of colours to choose from, but I went for a metallic inspired silver shoe. Metallics and specifically silver is a key colour/fabric for SS16 with catwalks donned in all sorts of styles. The Clementina courts from Moda in Pelle are super comfortable to wear for a night out, or style down with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a white t-shirt for a laid back daytime look.

The dress I chose is from First & I at ASOS – again, I opted for silver sequins. I love the shape of the dress – the kimono sleeves, V front and baggy fit are super flattering for any shape. It’s also a nice length – not too short, and can be worn with opaque black tights.

I was inspired by all the glitz and glamour as worn by Margot Robbie and my favourite dress of the ceremony – a golden snakeskin-textured maxi dress by Tom Ford. The gorgeous gowns at the Oscars are beautiful, but let’s face it – not very wearable. This look allows you to shine like a Hollywood starlet whilst you’re out for cocktails, dinner or a 'messy' night out.
