what i'm wearing: tulle skirt Never Fully Dressed // top Zara // bag Dune // shoes Office // watch* Jord // necklace Topshop
Last weekend I attended the Bloggers Ball, organised by Scarlett London - a blogger networking event which is the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones; as well as make new connections with brands who work with bloggers.
As per usual, I left my outfit decision to the morning of the event and I thought it was only fitting to dig out my tulle skirt from Never Fully Dressed and really make a ball of it! I love NFD - their clothes are always of great quality, well priced and very individual.
I styled this tulle midi skirt with a slip dress in the style of 'underwear as outerwear' - I loved the lace detail of the top, and also the thin straps at the back. There is something very sexy and understated about thin straps and delicate material - which Zara do very well. This slip dress (worn as top) is from Zara where class meets Scandi simplicity and Mediterranean sex appeal - making it one of my all time favourite shops. Hands down, I cannot walk out of there with nothing!
For special occasions, balance out the drama of the tulle skirt with a simple top of either the same, or completely contrasting colour; keep the skirt to a midi or maxi length; wear a statement jewellery piece either as a necklace or earrings.
For daytime chic, pair your midi tulle skirt with a simple scoop neck tee and a denim jacket; add some Chanel inspired espadrilles and you're ready for a coffee date in the city!
