The “urban safari” look has been around for years and I’m pretty sure all of us have embraced it in one way or another, whether it’s in the shape of an accessory or a printed jumpsuit. Although it’s not a trend that jumps out of Vogue or even Company this summer, I still find it’s a style that I can utilise in my day to day office environment and then an evening out if needs be.
I got these trousers from New Look about 2
years ago, in the sale for about £7. I wanted to experiment with printed harem trousers
and these seemed to fit my figure quite well so I went ahead. This style and
cut of trousers always looks better with heels, so for a day look I paired them
with t-bar wedges that I know will be comfortable for the 11 hours that I
work/travel every day.
I paired it with a simple, yet structured top
from this seasons Zara collection and added a hint of colour with a Topshop necklace.
If I was to wear this out, I’d grab an envelope style clutch, but as this is a
day look – an oversized black bag will do just fine.
I love trends but you don’t have to follow them
all the time: just because something isn't “in” this summer doesn’t mean you will
look dated or unfashionable. And reuse your old pieces – some of my favourite
outfits contain bargains I found 2 or 3 years ago! All you need to do is add a
piece from a current collection and style it up to date.
Love this look, I'm still a big fan of the urban safari vibe so this outfit for me is spot on :)
