Organic skincare is dominating the beauty market - but why would we want to spend more money on products which simply have an organic certificate stamped on them?
Let's start with the basics: what is organic beauty? Our skin absorbs tiny amounts of what we put on it, and buying certified organic products means that the ingredients used have been grown without any chemicals, are GM free and any non organic ingredients used are there because there are no organic alternatives available, and they too are GM free. So in a nutshell, you end up using products with natural and chemical free ingredients which can only be a good thing. Think about why you choose to shop organic when it comes to food - because what you're putting in to your body is better for you, so the same goes for what you're putting on to your skin.
But labels can be misleading as some companies who claim to be organic actually contain 1% of organic ingredients - unlike in food, there is no legal percentage requirement for a company to brand its products as 'organic'. So how do you know which companies to believe in?
But how do Antipodes measure up when it comes to organic beauty? The brand recognises that to be certified, a product must be 100% natural and made from at least 70-95% organic ingredients; they are certified by the independent government body AsureQuality Ltd, leading provider of food safety and biosecurity services in the southern hemisphere. The company also displays BioGro which is the most recognised organic logo amongst New Zealanders. However, Antipodes also note that other premium natural products in their range are very clean and pure, using high quality raw materials with very little or no residue component, and products that are not certified organic are 98- 100% natural.
This brings me to the conclusion that Antipodes are transparent and are a certified organic brand, which clearly displays labels on their organic beauty products - so you can trust in their marketing their products to be exactly what they say they are.
I have developed a daily skincare routine with Antipodes products because I know my skin is getting the goodness which it needs, and my spots are being held at bay. I love the Grace cream cleanser which is fragrance free and formulated especially for sensitive skin - it removes makeup and dirt without drying out the skin and preventing blemishes. I then follow Ananda Antioxidant Rich gentle toner to close my pores and soothe irritated skin - this is especially important in the winter when skin gets dry from using hot water.
I then give my skin the ultimate TLC and apply Rejoice light facial day cream which makes my skin super soft and nourishes it with manuka flower, almond oil, and avocado oil - mmmmm....
I finish the routine with the Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil lip conditioner - it soothes and moisturises lips, and is perfect to wear before bed, or under lipstick as a primer! I always keep it with me to top up during the day when my lips start feeling a little chapped - 'tis the season for chapped lips!
Antipodes are a staple brand in my skincare cupboard, because of the ingredients they use in their products and because I love how their products make my skin feel. Try organic beauty this Organic September, which is all about promoting organic products whether it's beauty or food. I was sceptical, but I now can see that using more natural and organic skincare does make a difference in the long run.
Fantastic employees and repair, excellent attitude and they actually understand their goods in contrast to an additional beauty store close by... Personally I think there has to be a few instructions which go upon prior to the workers strike the sales ground learn more…...
