Deep Cleanse Your Skin Without Causing Irritation

Daytox Volcanic Mud review, UK beauty blog, Hampshire bloggers, Dalry Rose blog

It’s beginning to look a lot like… the party season! My party essentials include fairy lights; all things glitter; faux fur home and fashion accessories; and a polished look - which admittedly is sometimes difficult to keep up, especially during the party season. Looking at my schedule this week I’m very excited and slightly overwhelmed that for 6 days out of 7 I will be working during the days and then heading to client evening meals and networking parties in the evening. ’Tis the season!

What I find difficult during weeks like this is to slow down and ensure it’s not just my outfits which are kept in perfect condition, but also my skin. Winter parties usually mean the excuse to wear glamorous makeup (ie cake it on your face!) and indulge in a couple of extra glasses of wine - which can sometimes lead to lack of motivation to properly cleanse your skin at the end of the night. Yikes, I went there - a simple micellar water wipe; or the dreaded makeup wipe.

I teamed up with Daytox to try and salvage my skin this winter and keep it in top shape - so they sent me their Daytox Volcanic Mud cleanser and mask which helps skin keep hydrated. Daytox products are cruelty free, vegan, paraben and allergen free and the brand truly believes in the connection between health and beauty. Their Volcanic Mud cleanser removes impurities from your skin, then gives it a boost of moisture which helps keep skin clear and with a healthy glow.

I like the idea of having one product which has multiple functions - especially if you’re on the move and travelling. I am, however, sceptical of skincare which acts as a cleanser and as a mask - mainly because I’m used to having two very good products. So will Daytox Volcanic Mud cleanser and mask pass the test?

First of all, I like the packaging of the product. It comes in a handy tube which sits nicely on the bathroom shelf, but also is flexible to fit into a makeup bag for travelling. The cleanser/mask has a lovely sweet yet earthy smell and is a shimmering grey colour, with a light consistency. It’s easy to apply and not messy at all - you simply wet skin, and rub the cleanser over your face and neck. Lather the cleanser, massage your skin, and the wash with warm water. OR if your skin needs a little bit of TLC you can leave the mask on for 5 minutes to let it work it’s magic on removing the impurities and toxins from your pores, then gently wash off with warm water.

The results? Even after a hot bath, and especially after using this cleanser as a mask, my skin felt very soft, yet cleansed. I didn’t need to use a lot of moisturiser on my skin which is great. Sometimes I crave a slightly stronger mask, something like a peel off one or a clay based mask to help when my skin is feeling rather groggy - but I really enjoyed using Daytox Volcanic Mud cleanser and mask as a weekly cleanser and mask to keep my skin feeling soft and refreshed, and it’s definitely a travelling essential for me because of the great results and lack of mess!

Have you tried cleanser & mask dual products? What do you think?
